that place...

i have come face to face with death in more than one instance in the last three months and i
hope and pray that that would be the last of it. there's jay's dad, my aunt and the pope.
all connected to me by blood, by marriage or by faith. i honestly think that i have had enough
of it that recently, i have been having dreams or rather nightmares of people i know or myself dying, getting hurt. or i, being trapped in some dark labyrinth.

though death has taught me that nothing is permanent and all of us, in the most unexpected times, will inevitably be transformed back to our original form, that is, ash. it has somehow made the concept of this place called Heaven more clearer and true.

maybe it is both the believer and the dreamer in me that actually holds on to the thought that all three of them are up there and having the grandest time of their lives...if you can technically call it as such. sam is not spared from all these, too. not once did she ask me what was happening and why her lolo pedro or her tita doray or the pope died and what will happen to them. and in these talks did we came up with our own picture of what heaven would be...

...that heaven is a place where everyone is happy...
...that in heaven you call yourself with a name you most wanted... we haven't decided what ours would be though
...that in heaven you can do whatever you have most wanted to do here on earth but for some reason was not able to do...
...that in heaven you can be whatever you want to be...be it wind or a horse or a rainbow
...that in heaven, God is a constant playmate

just recently, sam asked me if i think they have already met each other up there. i said most probably. and she asked me what their new names are. i just smiled and wondered myself.

Kyan Douglas, the hunky grooming guru of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy visited the Phils last week and Studio 23 covered the event. I just had to catch it on the show F. I was, at that time, doing Kumon with Sam and I had to just stop because Daphney's interview with him is about to start...

Jay : Sam, bayaan mo muna si Mommy crush nya yan.
Me : *gazing in front of the tv, beaming*
Sam : Mommy, crush mo yan?
Me : Oo, bakit?
Sam : (with a worried look on her face) Hindi mo na mahal si Daddy?

hehehehe...

As we were about the retire...

Sam : (with the same worried look) Mommy, bakit crush mo yon? Hindi mo na ba mahal si Daddy?
Me : Syempre mahal ko.

hahaha...

begun Batman has

only one word can describe the new Batman movie, that is, BANGIS. honestly, it was the only
Batman movie i truly appreciated. ok ok. maybe because i am not really a marvel/dc comic/superhero fan or anything. i just pretend i am...hahaha! primarily because jay is. and whatever he loves i love. charing!

no but really, the movie is one of the best i've watched since the LOTR trilogy. it kept me glued
from beginning to end. also, can i just say that Christian Bale makes one hell of a Batman?! i really like his boyish looks and his even teeth with matching pangil on the sides. hehehe. and i love love Alfred! he's just so fatherly, i hope they sign him up for the next installment.

jay told me that the guy who played Scarecrow auditioned for the role of Batman and that though he never got the role, his audition was quite impressive that Nolan (the director) got him for the role of Scarecrow. there's a trivia for you. but i just can't imagine him wearing the Batman costume with only his Winona Ryder lips showing!

here's another trivia (again from Jay), i told you he's a fan. Joshua Jackson also auditioned for the role. Yep, Pacey! Good thing he didn't get the role because it will be Dawson's Creek all over again with Joey and no less than Dawson as the Scarecrow! Now That! is some Batman movie. hahaha!

a day in a life of a model (not!)

i just came from my very first photo shoot. yup. complete with director, the photographers, lights, the works. o di ba? feeling model. well, actually it's for our company brochure. and since our business focus primarily on marketing and consumers, i was asked to pose as a shopper in a grocery store.

ang saya pala. at first it felt really awkward. they asked me to pose at the fruit section of the
grocery, pick a delectable looking orange and smile. i think it took us about 45 minutes just for that shoot. lahat na yata ng klase ng smile ginawa ko na. hehehe. since i was holding a grocery basket with a few fruits and vegetables inside as props, and i was holding it the whole time, nanginig na talaga ako sa ngalay.

pero ang saya because the photographers and the director were nice and they made me feel comfortable. tapos we went on to shoot for the next scene naman where we pretended to be in deep conversation sa lobby ng mall.

since the location was inside Waltermart in Pasay Road, and it was almost lunch time, the people started to pour in, hala! pinagtitinginan na kami. trying to figure who we were. siguro sabi nila, sino ba tong mga feeling na to? hahaha...

so that was my first photo shoot. first kasi para may second, third, fourth...hehehe

wala lang...nagfefeeling lang.

first day funk

nakakaexcite talaga ang first day of classes lalo na pag elem.

"sam...do the first day funk ah!"
